Nice to meet you, I’m Kate.
I’m a mom to twin boys and I live in Johannesburg, South Africa. I build brands in real life, in real time, and I believe the most powerful personal brands are the ones rooted in honesty, consistency, and story.
If you’re here because you want to build a personal brand but feel unsure where to start, or nervous about putting yourself online, you’re not alone. Social media can feel loud, performative, and intimidating, especially if you want to be taken seriously in your work.
I’ve been creating and sharing content for most of my life. I started when I was ten years old, filming little videos on my dad’s VHS recorder, long before content creation was a job or a strategy. As the internet evolved, so did that instinct, but it was only later that I really understood its power.
That shift came when my husband and I started sharing our overland and camping adventures in our Land Rover Defender. By telling honest, unpolished stories, we grew a community of over 32,000 outdoor enthusiasts. Not by chasing trends, but by showing up consistently and sharing what felt real.
From there, I began using the same story-first approach to help the women around me. I supported my nanny, Yaya, to launch Yaya’s Rusks, turning a kitchen side hustle into a national food brand with a wholesale bakery partner, without changing who she was to make her “marketable”. I helped my mom launch her social media accounts, and her first video reached 100,000 views.
Since then, I’ve worked with close to 100 women to help them uncover the storylines already present in their lives, connect with online communities, and use social media to start or scale businesses, create digital products, and build personal brands that open doors.
